No I definitely would not have wanted one a dem.... The first ones I encountered were at the airport. It was my first trip back. We went to the airport to meet my sister who flew down after we did since she was at camp. It was an elderly couple. I must have been about 18 or so. The lady started "Mi naw go a Canada you know...no sah! Mi son deh a Canada. I COLD inna Canada you know." Then she turned to my Dad and started complaining about the loud speaker "Beg you tell de bwoy fe stop shoutin' inna de ting. 'im boddahin' mi ears." I wanted to just

I get why a Black woman or any woman for that matter wouldn't want one of those. I have been focusing on the successful men though. It was Sinco01's thread about the Mahfoods and the photo he posted that generated this discussion.

When mi seh chat bad, mi noh mean patois yah know...is how dem emphasize wha dem saying and chatting sinting faar farrin from patois.../[cyaanot membah some a dem now].. things like instead of saying *food/nyamings*, they will say "bikkle" and instead of saying "fish" they would say "salting" actually some of them needed interpreters when they came to town [I kid you not} just to understand what they were saying...some a dem all chat up innah dem nose....so be careful wha yuh wish fah yah hear?

...and Tropi, some of these white folks are mostly from the Middle East where their culture DICTATES who they marry...some a dem all married from dem a two an chree years ole...so even hiff dem si a Jamaican daawtah, dem naah go go dere, fearing ostracism and even disinheritance form the rest of the fambly....same ting for some Indians an even Chinese...look like seh a ongle wee black ppl marry to any and everybody..

My first real love was an Indian Jamaican, my mother grandfather was mostly white and I know so many couples where the woman was black and man indian or asian or white so this topic is a bit out there!

My girl, all black women the world over have wondered this, but at some point we stop. You need to MOVE, change where you live and MOVE. I used to live in a mostly non-black area and loved it when I'd go to the black or more diverse areas(middle class, thank you!) and have men googly eyeing me and calling to me. If you are in such a setting where black women are getting the short end of the stick which leads you after two years to still create these topics I'd say you are NOT happy and need to switch locales!

In the UK and Canada, black men often run to white women because of historical and social reasons. Aren't you older than me? Shouldn't you know that? If you want a more healthy environment I think you should move. In NY and the US Caribbean immigrant men often seek out fellow Caribbean sisters. Black men 9 out of 10 times are with black women! You are living in a situation that is making you unhappy.

sUH U ah place importance on correct english syntax.... U know I was constantly told mi chat bad by black ooman and it was used a measure of class... Being fram ST E it may seem strange but the use of language was a guage of class as much as skin colour...

I'm not going to stop replying because I used to rant about this subject too. It's obvious you are not happy. My advice to you is to move. I know personally I could not live comfortably in England seeing 99% of the black men around me having white women on their arms.
