Obama must take some of the blame for this because he hired those gate keepers. What did he expect, or is it just part of the general timid/cautious (take your pic) approach of Obama; nothing bold, just centrist moves. What happened to his chief economic advisor during the campaign - Austan Goolsbee; I've heard very little of him, or is he sidelined for Geithner and Summers. It seems that Obama is only getting one kind of advice, or certainly listening to only one kind. Incidentally, Goolsbee was a student of Paul Krugman.
