fi real..maybe they gave it to Miss Nigeria to show that a really black woman had some sway… ….as old time people seh…neva count u chickens before dem hatch…my girl did really tink it was her crown…watch her demeanour wen they announced her placement…she was deflated…noticeably deflated…wich is understandable as i am sure the crowd reaction had bolstered her thru out…wen di Donald is in play u cannot second guess the outcome…fi real…the amount of free press he got for his renovated place in the town dem had the contest, goes to show...

it is u know…wen u see people gushing over their trips to Ja u realize that there really r two Jamaicas n the divide widens…then again some of the properties weh mi see people a ooh n aah over mek mi realize that wen u save fi a vacation, u go n mek sure u really enjoy it…the all inclusive experience is soooo watered down with so so liquor n bland food dat unless u really shell out fi the high end properties u miss out on a lot…but to each their own…fi real….but her answer was telling on just how Jamaica been reduced to reggae n sports…fi real…if she did draw fi the fact that a Jamaican did the layout of a Texan city, Colin Powell, even Marcus….my girl who is Obama's right hand…but we just music n muscle...

She got 5th place because she did not have a long EDIT weave down to her EDIT. End of story. If she had put in the weave, she would have won.

clearly she never watch and study past pageants to see what "kind of look" the judges would be looking for

It was Bob Marley in my head as I wrote this post-Miss Universe piece yesterday. Blame it on Miss Jamaica. But don’t blame her for believing that Bob Marley is her country’s greatest contribution to the world, along with Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt.
Usain Bolt, nicknamed “Lightning Bolt,” is widely regarded as the fastest person ever, while Bob Marley, well, who doesn’t know the man and the things his music represents?

The Philippines is among the many countries that embrace reggae as their own, with Cebu as one place where it has found a solid base.
It could be reggae’s message of peace, unity and social justice that Miss Jamaica was referring to in her answer. In that case, she could have answered “World Peace,” used Bob Marley’s “One Love” as an example and, like Lightning Bolt, run off with the title.
Seconds after Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennel gave her answer, Twitter exploded with posts that made fun of the 23-year-old stunner. They didn’t like the answer but couldn’t explain why. They just thought it was not Miss Universe-ish, and funny. Every tweet used the hashtag LOL.
Remember, this is a beauty pageant, and beauty pageants are always in search for the essence of things. What is the essence of beauty? What is the essence of being a woman? What is the essence of the conflict in the Middle East? What is the essence of a hamburger?
I should know because my being a writer allowed people to think that I can be an expert of women’s beauty as well, so they invite me to sit as beauty pageant judge every now and then. I’ve been witness to girls going insane looking for the essence of the kamoteng kahoy.
But was the Bob Marley answer of Miss Jamaica not the one that the question actually required? If you’re asked what your country’s contribution to the world is, wouldn’t you be digging up your country’s history for local products that have made it abroad and are being embraced by a global market?
So with Miss Jamaica’s answer as our model, who and what would have been chosen by the other contestants as their country’s biggest contribution to the world? Miss USA would definitely say Elvis Presley, Mickey Mouse, McDonald’s, Britney Spears and she could go on until the next Miss Universe pageant comes around. And Bon Jovi, too, she would add because she forgot.
What about Miss Philippines? If I were Miss Philippines, this would be my answer: “My country has two biggest contributions to the world: Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Aguilar. As one of the world’s greatest boxers, Manny Pacquiao looks for the essence of beauty in his enemy’s face and destroys it with a left. He’s here with us tonight as judge, looking for the essence of beauty in all of us.
“As for Freddie Aguilar, you know his song ‘Anak’ right? No? How come? It’s been translated into 26 languages and released in 56 countries. It was No. 1 in the US Billboard for two weeks and… Here, let me sing a few lines… Noong isilang ka sa… Hey, give me back the microphone… What do you mean time is up? This is discrimination! Manny, help!”
Miss Jamaica wins the pageant and leads in the singing of “Redemption Song.”

I think trump decide and the judges just there for show. She just not.mr trump cup of tea. (As said up thread in a few years so it doan look too bad a black contestant will either win or place high. That said, me nuh watch beauty pageant in donkey years because me nuh rate them. Same way me open me book.and start read when ghost hunters or finding big foot start show pon tv)
