Re-inventing the wheel

Inspired by Skelly's thread on Race and Social mobility.
For me the wheel is already defined, needless to say from place to place a further layer varies(Management Status, Political affiliation, etc).

Serious participation necessary.



Obviously race is not the only factor in getting there. And for those who tend to believe that you can make it if you really try, I take it to mean that Religion, Parental/Marital status and Education can conquer all. But is this really the case?

Education and hard work means that you CAN make it if you really try....but there are no guarantees. Some systems are so entrenched that one will be denied certain opportunities both personally and professional on the basis of race PERIOD! As you said, it varies from place to place and time to time.

Education: neva finish 2 year ah primary school in Jamaica.. according to the inspection reports of the time was probably the worst in the island.. I seem to hold my own gainst yanki who guh to tap university doah...
Work Back ground: independent Consultant to transnationals.
Income: Minimum wage... pay mi self dividends. mi poor
Marital status: imprioned by she whom all men fear
Military Experience: Lots of it... lots of bloody, violent, visoucs , paid for by un remited sadists...
Relgious beleif: Beleive in gods but they are dead
Geographic Localtion: Subject to sudden changes. Residence in the last ten years 6 or 7 countries lost count. work in one during the week live in anotehr on the week end.
Parental status : one ded one near ded.
Age: not yet ded, but seem to be working on it
Race: What ever you are I am not that!
Ethnicity: Taino heritage
Gender: Male
Physical Abilities: Can use machete, extremely quick reflextes, cyan dance, sharpnel in body to set off some metal detectors, scars on face nearly all gone due to having reconstructive surgery, but huge anacanda...
Sexual orientation: love ooman wid agricultural legs cyan done between the age of 16-40... Cyan stan Kanadian ooman doah... Dem accent too irritating....dem whine tuh much...

I guess in the absence of one, there is greater focus on others. Not sure if some blacks are following strategies or not but I have met some who seem to go after education to prove that they are not as dumb as whites might think. As a result other sectors get left out which might have been necessary for the personal development. Then the end result is, 'Oh I have this and that education and I am still not getting jobs, it is definitely racism'.
