Ontario Boardites, Mi Need Your Help

I'm just wondering if any of you have had experience with placing a family member into a nursing home in the province of Ontario?

We are in very early stages of going through this process with my father and I sure would appreciate if someone who has been through it could help answer a few questions I have.

yes. not pretty. my aunt. we had to get the PGT (provincial guardian and trustee) involved because even though we had tried for years and years to get a power of attorney for her affairs, she refused until har wutliss dawg nawssy ex husband tried to sell the house from under her and put her on the street.

eventually, tho, things have worked out. she's okay in her 80's and her assets are protected for her care.

we had to get her assessed for senile dementia, and the process speeded up somewhat because she's in a government run facility. the private ones are hella expensive. wish i had money tho. there's a really nice place just down the street from me. it's run like a hotel.
