<span style="color: #3333FF">What goes on with those towers across from MetroTech? When did they put those up? It looks crazy down there, it doesn't fit.

We were driving down Flatbush and I almost collided with the car in front of me. They appeared out of nowhere like something from a sci-fi movie, Attack of the 500 Foot Towers. </span>

i was slightly interested in the one at schemerhorn but that is not exactly a family hood over there plus too far from everything

ms blue not too long before metro tech looks like wall street wid all the towers, dont forget they are supposed to be building the new stadium over on atlantic, so all of the surrounding area will be built up.

praise be to the one above i stopped following the news after it seemed like a done deal there was a lot of opposition to it.

Yes, I saw it when I walked down there the other day. In fact, where Myrtle Ave crosses over Flatbush has changed from the way it was 20 years ago when I last lived in Brooklyn. Come to think of it, I took a walk all the way back up Myrtle ave to Washington Ave (the street I used to live on, right in front of Prat Institute) and while Ft. Greene still looks like a dump, once you go past Washington Park, the neighborhood has been completely revamped with brand new brownstones.

Speaking of the building, if I recall, they are building another one closer to LIU. I was also stunned to see a mall at Atlantic and Flatbush. When I left N.Y, that was just a common intersection. Brooklyn Heights (up the street) still looks upscale and trendy and the good old Promenade is still there with that wonderful view.

Harlem also surprised me with its changes but the Bronx (where I also used to live) remains the same and so was Jamaica Ave in Queens.

yup the bronx nah change much it's too far from the city to benefit from demand for housing etc.

though i had read in the times a while back that they were building upscale lofts by yankee stadium.

125th looks different, but it's still the same. We were walking near Lenox and there was a group of kids, the youngest had to be about 8 or 9, the oldest about 11 or 12. They were cursing out one of the guys standing outside a store. </span>

I have pics of the two stadiums side by side I took back in late late February. I also wanted to know what they were going to do with the old stadium. Funny thing is, I used to live right next to those stadiums and my stop on the train was actually the very same stop at Yankee Stadium. Still looks the same today decades later.

Funny you should mention 125th. Heading up there in a minute.

That's what I heard. Something to do with the bad economy, financing, and change in projections.

But all the people that didn't want to leave their homes have already moved out.
