So I want to be really clear about this. If during the interviews Bob Marley starts talking about herb, am I still allowed to post the interviews? I am not a proponent of ganja use but interviewers often asked Bob about his views during the course of interviews and he had NO problem sharing them. It's hard to find interviews in which he doesn't speak about this at some point.

We keep our citizenship so she a Jamaican country granny would have been described as Jamaiacan. Besides Tanya, what Jamaican country granny in her right mind would not have known the difference between cerasse and ganja, ESPECIALLY if she uses cerasse regularly.

i heard plenty of marley interviews where he never mentions herb once

Well as you know my darling ex hubby , those are the ones I have been posting. Still I hate it when the inteview is interesting and going well and all of a sudden herb deh bout. I even found some interviews with really old photos of the group that I didn't post because of that.

That is incorrect Blackstar. If someone left Jamaica before independence and became naturalized Canadian, they very MUCH are entitled to Jamaican passports and citizenship.

The interview said she was Canadian. If she was Jamaican, it would have said Jamaican. Since the overwhelming majority of Canadians are White, I assume she is White.

I wasn't there. I posted the story as reported. Based on the story as reported, I say sere ar right. If they had reason to believe she was not KNOWINGLY carrying the ganja, they would not have charged her and fined her. If additional FACTS come to light that reveal that she didn't know she had the ganja, now that's a different story....but that is NOT what was reported.

Polish citizen to spend time in Jamaican jail for ganja

A Polish citizen was Thursday sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to several drug-related charges in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate's court on Wednesday.

He was also ordered to pay $395,100 in fines or spend an additional six months behind bars.

Francisek Mazurkiewicz, who gave his address to the police as 12 Grove Road, Thornton Heath, Surrey, London England, pleaded guilty to the charges of possession of 33 lbs of ganja, dealing in ganja and taking preparatory steps to export ganja.

Mazurkiewicz was ordered by presiding magistrate Martin Gayle to pay $15,000 for the charge of possession of ganja, $114,600 for the charge of dealing in ganja, and $265,500 for taking steps to export ganja. Each charge also carries a six-month prison stint if the fines are not paid.

Additionally, Mazurkiewicz was sentenced to 18 months in prison at hard labour by RM Gayle for the offences.
If Mazurkiewicz fails to pay the fines, each of the six-month prison terms are to run concurrently, but consecutive to the 18-month prison term. Mazurkiewicz is also to be deported after serving time behind bars.

According to court documents, on September 6, the Polish citizen checked into the Norman Manley International Airport to board a flight destined for London. He was stopped and searched and a grey suitcase he was carrying was found to contain a false compartment, which had several parcels of ganja wrapped in brown masking tape.

Mazurkiewicz was subsequently arrested and charged.

ALAN 'Skill' Cole, one of Jamaica's best known footballers, was yesterday sentenced to 18 months behind bars and fined $1.015 million after being found guilty on several drug-related charges arising out of an incident in February 2002.

However, Cole, who appeared in the Half-Way-Tree Criminal Court, was released on bail in the sum of $2 million after his attorney gave a verbal notice of appeal.

According to Cole's attorney Patrick Atkinson, the football icon was sentenced to pay $15,000 for possession of marijuana, $500,000, for dealing in marijuana and $500,000 for taking steps to export marijuana from Jamaica. Cole was also sentenced to 18 months in prison on the charge of using a premises to store marijuana.
If the former national football player and coach fails to pay the fines imposed by Resident Magistrate Desiree Alleyene, he will spend an additional eight months behind bars.

Allegations are that in February of 2002, members of a police team raided Cole's Vineyard Town, Kingston home where they found 60 parcels of compressed ganja weighing approximately 148.45 kilograms (326.59 lbs).

During the raid, Cole and five other men were arrested, but the five men were subsequently released after the prosecution found that there was not enough evidence to link them to the drug find, leaving Cole alone to face the charges in the trial which began in February this year.
Cole came to prominence in the 1960s as a footballer at the schoolboy level, and subsequently at the national level in the 1970s.
