Maybe you're right, neutral. It's true that authorities don't do anything until visitors are endangered. If the roads were better maintained, more public transport available, less private cars about, residents and visitors alike would be safer. </div></div>

No. I was referring to rules governing issuance of drivers license. They can set up all the rules they want. If a man haffi eat a food, wouldn't that circumvent (sp) the rules?

As a matter of fact that is why ther are so many devided roads. It is to prevent prevalent lane crossings when passing vuhicles. Jamaica need to start instituting it too. It may be expensive, but the loives of the people are worth it.

The SUVs, have no respect fopr them. So although th edrivers may not wat to, cross them, the vehicles under certain conditions do so too often,

As for the Texting,some drivers simply talking in the ohine, simply drive through the stop sign, rights or even with pedestrians in the way. It is becomming a safety crisis I tell you in my neck of the woods..

As long as the market is ther it will always broaden to include those who the inspector feel shoulndnt get a license without him getting a cut.
I am looking forward to wher you can go in a bother and druve for your licenses on a simulator.

Otherwise if we don't we surely will be blinded by the lights. that is even if they dim them.

I have to agree with you,people that buy their licenses in jamaica hasnt undergone any type of road awareness or road code training,they simply get behind a wheel and act like driving was some kind of competition.

The driving I see there is sheer madness,and the majority of the drivers seem to be unqualified morons with no regards for other drivers or pedestrians.

Can I get an AMEN!! Makes me crazy, specially when they have those blinding halogen lights.

St. Elizabeth... Maybe some police <span style="font-weight: bold">presence</span> would help. You don't see a lot of police around St Bess. Only time I've ever seen police in Great Bay or anywhere in TB was after Hurricane Charlie when PJs motorcade came thru to see how the roads mash up.

Even going up by Crossroads, Flagaman, over by Newell. Can't recall seeing much police presence unless we're passing the station in Pedro Plain.

I've never known anyone to be hesitant to drive cos of a likkle ting like a driver's license or insurance.

A speeding stop can be resolved with $2000J.

Ome night a young driver almost hit us head-on on a curve coming down from Southfield on the main road. We were on the outside of the curve, and the other driver was taking the curve too wide, couldn't control the car enough to hug the inside of the curve. At the last minute he swerved and hit us on the driver's side.
We were on the roadside for almost an hour and never saw a police car.
