Policeman caught driving stolen car

ORACABESSA, St Mary — A special constable assigned to the St Ann police is now in custody in connection with a stolen car, which he was allegedly found driving. His name has not been released as he is has not yet charged.
The special constable was arrested in Oracabessa, St Mary during a special operation led by the Area II Operations and Support Team, OST. According to the police, a 1999 Toyota Corolla, driven by the special constable was stopped. During an inspection of the car it was discovered that the car had two different licence plates.
The police say it was later discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Black River, St Elizabeth last December. The policeman was subsequently arrested. Another man, who the special constable said loaned him the car, was also taken into custody.
Investigators subsequently handed over the stolen vehicle and the men to the St Elizabeth police on Wednesday.
