The comments at the bottom of the piece are very interesting. I wonder if people say things just because they are hiding behind a [very tiny] computer screen? Somehow they seem to miss the "bigger picture". no pun intended

You know how many times it has come up and vote down since the war ends?!!
They refused to pay the world wae 2 vets intil they ere ready to go in the 2nd war too anyway.
They are equal opportunity scrooge. willing to send people to war but never want to pay them.
They will be sore mad when they realize the high incidence of disabled vets result from the current wars.
