A three-year-old boy yesterday afternoon used his aunt's service revolver, which he<span style="font-weight: bold"> snatched from beneath her pillow</span>, to shoot and kill his five-year-old brother at their home in Clarendon, according to police sources.
The incident occurred just after midday while the children were at home in the community of Glenmuir, on the outskirts of May Pen.
According to a police source, <span style="font-weight: bold">the boys were in their aunt's room when the three-year-old took up the weapon, pointed it at his brother and squeezed the trigger.</span>
The injured boy was rushed to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The aunt - a police constable for the past three years, and who is assigned to the May Pen Police Station - had <span style="font-weight: bold">reportedly left home for training</span> in anticipation of the upcoming annual police sports day activities.
<span style="font-weight: bold">"She [the aunt] went to track and field training ... when it happened. </span>She is really distraught right now. I can only imagine how she must feel. She is in shock and is barely talking," a colleague of the aunt told the Observer last night.

This women either ignored common sense and/or how she was trained to respect and secure her lethal weapon especially in a house with infants
1: Empty gun not locked in a secure cupboard - with bullets stored elsewhere equally secured
2: Gun left under pillow loaded with bullets as opposed to being empty
3: Children obviously knew where gun was kept ("hidden"
4: Room door itself was not locked.
Who was at home looking after the 3 and 5 year old?
The police woman should face charges and the outcry should be louder than 'usual' (no sympathy) because she is a POLICE who knows the dangers of a firearm, should know better and obviously negligent. More Fiyah
