The police are trying to figure out why three people were shot dead at a wake in Salt Spring, St. James early Sunday morning which also left three others injured.
Roy Ricketts Junior, 28, his cousins Ricardo Ricketts, 18 and Fabian Bailey, 24 all of Cottage Road in Salt Spring, are the three while injured are a 13, 18 and 27 year old who are also from Salt Spring.
The police say about 1.40 am, the six persons were among a group at a wake in a section of Slat Spring known as "Buck Toe Lane" when eight gunmen attacked, opening fire at the group.
Mr. Bailey and the Ricketts' died on the spot while the others were taken to hospital where one was admitted in stable condition and the others treated and released.
The victims were said to be relatives of Dean Wint for whom the wake was being held.

When RJR News visited Buck Toe Lane, residents were seen packing bags and fleeing the area.
The police believe that that same group of gunmen went to another area of the community where a man was shot dead.
Opposition Councillor/Caretaker for the area Henry McCurdy believes sections of St. James are under lock down from criminality, a situation which he believes requires the intervention of both the public and private sector.
"Things are reaching panic levels and so we're asking the people to get involved ... the stakeholders, Chamber of Commerce, politicians, all of us," said Mr. McCurdy.
