<span style="font-weight: bold">Bea Arthur, who memorably played Dorothy on &quot;The Golden Girls,&quot; has died, reports the Associated Press. She was 86.</span>

A family spokesman tells the AP that Arthur passed away at her home on Saturday. The spokesman said she was battling cancer, but did not elaborate on the cause of death.

Arthur, known for her comedic chops and distinctive voice, won Emmys for &quot;The Golden Girls&quot; and &quot;Maude.&quot; She also captured a Tony Award acting on the stage in the musical &quot;Mame.&quot;</div></div>

Me didn't realize that she was that far up in age.

I use to LOVE ME SOME MAUD back in the day. She was one funny lady. God Bless her soul. MAUD!!

you are right. She did look good for someone her age cause I didnt think she would be pushing 90 yrs.

I remember loving the Golden Girls!

Me too. Me used to laugh at them furniture with those floral print chairs until me went to visit me Aunt in Palm Beach and she and just about every other house me visited in Florida had those style of furniture.
