I found the English version very hilarious, especially di movements of the Maestro..

That song is on one of the CD's I borrowed from the library for the twins. Can't think of the Jamaican artist who sings it, sorry to say he sounds better than both choices. When I go to work on Monday I will try to remember to post the name of the CD.

So the hottie ( pon Skelly) boy choir version is definitely easier on the ears.

Plus IMO the choir is elevating Jamaican folk song while Sir Eric mek mi feel like him exploiting mi.

A joke but it is quite refreshing...granted I could not understand a word of the rap solo but it was amazing when they transcended into the Beatle's song and back again....

I think they could hold their own!

Info on the performance:

This is a setting of a Jamaican folksong, popularized by Louise Simone Bennett-Coverley (the Honorable Miss Lou) and arranged by composer Paul Rardin, featuring a Jamaican rap solo, performed by Matt McMurry (who gets an excessive amount of face time in this video) and various other shenanigans. This song was performed by the Grand Valley State University Varsity Men in February of 2009.

Version #2 made me cringe... I like version #1 better. The British boys' version was entertaining and reminded me of Louise Bennett, the icon of Jamaican traditional and Folk songs.

Oohh...so they are not British!! Miss Lou is the orginally rapper...if you listen the Miss Lou song &quot;Balancey&quot; you will hear her rapping. This was before dancehall and everything else...she is the orginal

Whether British or Americans, the credit goes to Miss Lou as the originator of &quot;folk rap&quot; ~ she is indeed the 'original'
