A Lebanese lady in our office...

Just told me that back home, in her culture, if a stranger knocked on her door asking for food, she would feel obliged to feed that person.

She burst out laughing and didn't believe me when I told her in the UK, they would call the police and/or shoot you.

Is she muslim? Because the above is one of the tenants of Islam as well.

If only ppl lived their religion and not just chat it on their Holy Day........

This is more the result of tribal traditions rather than religion. In Afghanistan, one is obligated to shelter and feed a blood enemy if said enemy humbly requests it. There were cases during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan that Russian soldiers used and abused this loophole.

it is a combination of both Bippy. Cause the use of chadors, hajibs, etc. can also be argued as a cultural expression and not a religious one, so it depends on your POV.

No she has a boyfriend - he got caught with a small quantity at Dubai airport - and our well-connected boss got him sent home rather than having to do the customary four years.
