well, the pic of jodi ann maxwell is not terribly iconic. and the pic of josephine baker is lovely, but the iconic one, i'd say, is the one of her doing her half naked dance.

Last night I was going to post the pic with the malnourished dying child with the vulture waiting in the back... I couldn't. Btw, the photographer for that pic had committed suicide after getting under heavy flak for waiting all of 20 mins to take the picture and not reaching out a hand to help the dying child.

Iconic pics that I can think of now...

-the lynchings of the 1930s

-the malnourished children that prompted 'We are the world'

Jamaica's newly elected Eddie Seaga shaking hands with US newly elected Ronald Reagan

Pics of hurricane Gilbert raging and the pilfering of Serv-well on Ashenheim Rd during the middle of the hurricane (lol!)

-the pic of the black high school students walking to the first de-segregated school somewhere in the south and the white female henpecking the black female student
