Legally, it isn't. But morally/ethically speaking, some people may come to that position.
What is rarely acknowledged is that the right to life is not absolute. If a woman is raped and got pregnant (obviously she did not consent to conceiving a child), it is well within her rights to terminate that pregnancy. Now,she may choose to continue with the pregnancy and give birth to the child, but she should not be compelled to do so. Also, when a woman's life is in danger, this becomes a issue of self-defense, and she is well within her rights to terminate the pregnancy. Again, she may chose to continue and give birth to the child, but she shouldn't be compelled to do so.
My own view: I'm generally against abortion, but I think exceptions should be made for cases of rape, and when the woman's life is in danger.
