TORONTO, Canada - The Future Leaders component of the Jamaican Diaspora Canada will host their third annual summit on Friday (June 5, 2009) this week – and the theme for this year is “The Business of Culture.”

Open to all Jamaicans between the ages of 18 and 34, the summit is scheduled for the Jamaican Canadian Association, 995 Arrow Road, Toronto (Highway 400 and Finch Avenue E.) on Friday (June 5, 2009), at 7:30p.m.

This 2009 summit is a precursor to the Global Jamaican Diaspora Future Leaders Conference, scheduled for Kingston, Jamaica, between August 3 and 8 this year. Details of how young persons between 18 and 34 may attend the conference will be given at Friday’s event.

They have over time engender the belief that Jamaica's problem is one of the age of the leaders.
The people has more or less accepted this nonsense. this scientifically unsupported idea that youth mean he and fresh thinking, And fresh thinking means a solution.
but the problem is that this belief the solution rests with youth is only a ploy, to carry on the same puppetry that has been passing as government in Jamaica in particular, and the third world in general.

well I must say although my young students are supposed to be the brightest in they world, (we fool ourselves) are always encouraged to discusses ideas they developed with me.
My analysis usually find it wanting and they have always been encouraged to try their way.
Then after the fail, I would now suggest they try it my way. The fact is Jamaica's problem is not caused by old people's thoughts.
It is caused by people in authority that are influenced my popular beliefs.
They act on the most popular view on subjects, or the view of their financiers.
They can gather as young a group as they want.
Yes the problem will only become seen as futile to solve after enough inappropriate attempts are made in solving it.
i will also sit back and be ready to suggest they attempt my idea of a solution. That is after they fail.
Solutions are always as old as the problem,but the motivation to change is usually in the way.
The youth will be encouraged to adopt some 'new' solution that is as inappropriate as the only solution. because it's true goal will not be what the puppeteers will tell the youth.
They will only fill their heads with ideas of grandeur. And the will run with it.
Just like the did with the previous crop of leaders.

Scared of something <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Doc</span>....Jamaica's problem is partly due to the same old folks who have issued guns and orders for Jamaicans to kill each other, being in power for so long. It time for them to leave the scene in a big hurry, more power to any youth right now who want to try to dislodge these jokers by throwing their hat into the ring.
We need the youth getting involved in bunches.
