Michael Manley's House Destroyed by Fire

Two more houses have been destroyed by fire in the Mavis Bank areas.The bush fire’s been raging in Mavis Bank, St. Andrew since a week ago, and has destroyed several homes including that of former Prime Minister Michael Manley.
NNN understands the fire has now spread to five communities in East Rural St. Andrew.
The communities are Flamstead, Lime Tree, Craig Hill, Top Hill and Content.
Two houses burned to the ground in the last hour in Craig head while 6 more are at risk.
Officers from the Jamaica Fire Brigade are reportedly using cloth and sticks to beat back the fire in Craig Head.
Joan Gordon Webley, coffee farmer and former MP for East Rural St Andrew, says the fire continues to burn as the wind changes direction and there is no water in East Rural St. Andrew. It’s gotten worst since morning.
Jamaica Labour Party Caretaker Alexander Williams who’s also on the ground says more people are evacuating while others are seen soaking their homes to avert the fire from catching.

the more suspious thing is the number of Poltial leaders who are coffee growers in the area... Dunkley, Webly, Manley, Seaga I wonder who else.. Is it my suspious mind that over the years there has been grants from Japan, iad et al for coffee development ?????

for decades there were fires in the malvern area and there was no fire engines available, it wasnt a concern. Mutty Perkins land got bun dung, twice they evacualted munro last year as bush fires burn with no water available to put our....suddenly this week end the fire fighters were missing and there was a report they were at a conference for disaster preparedness!
