Trevor Rhone's critically acclaimed classic comedy, Smile Orange, opens tonight at the Little Little Theatre at 8:00 pm.
The star-studded cast includes Everald Creary and Donald Anderson, neither of whom existed when the original play, directed by the late Dennis Scott - first opened at the Barn Theatre in 1971. <span style="font-weight: bold">At that time, the play which was scheduled to run for 10 days only, ran for well over 500 performances.</span>
<span style="font-weight: bold">Interestingly, the cost of theatre tickets back then was a mere 50 cents</span>. Other members of the cast include Shaun Drysdale, Gracia Thompson and Hugh Douse. The play features two casts and is directed by the author Rhone. It is a Rhone/Beckford production.
<span style="font-weight: bold">"When I announced the revival of Smile Orange, there was a buzz in the theatre community and one could sense the excitement</span>", said Rhone as he took a quick break from directing. "The response was so overwhelming that the producers, Rhone/Beckford, decided that they should give as many actors as possible the chance of playing the classic <span style="font-weight: bold">roles of 'Ringo', 'Bus Boy', 'Joe' and 'Miss Brandon'</span>," he continued.

Members of the two casts of the play which opens tonight for a limited run are Donald Anderson and Oneil Peart playing Ringo, Everaldo Creary and Akeem Johnson sharing the Bus Boy role, Paul Skeen and Shaun Drysdale who accepted the challenge to play Joe while the role of Miss Brandon is shared by Gracia Thompson and Raquel Sutherland. Michael Daley and Hugh Douse play Okeefe the over-zealous hotel manager.
