I tried to justify what I (don't) eat.

Yesterday we decided to work from the creative director's apartment - too many distractions in the office.

Two English guys, two Hindus, a South African Jewish lady and me.

So, while the CD was preparing brunch he boldly announced, 'scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, mushroom, tomato.'

'What do you mean you don't eat bacon?' (Aimed at ME, not Bianca, the JEWISH lady!)

Me: 'Err... no it's not religious... although it clearly states in the Bible that Christians shouldn't eat it - not eating pork isn't a Jewish or Muslim thing.'

'Really? In the Bible?'

'It's true... anyway for me, some of the influence came from the Rasta movement and Reggae when I was a kid, telling people don't eat pork... a lot of black people I know just stopped... and my mum never used to buy it anyway.'

'Have you ever tasted it?'

'Of course I have! Hey, I don't eat horse either, but some French people think it's fine!

Imagine if we were in Seoul or Shanghai or Manila office and the boss started frying up some dog - what would you say?

I just don't eat it - that's all.'



(I refrained from mentioning that, <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">as far as I'm concerned</span></span>, pork isn't healthy.)

mi reely tired of people bad mouthing pork.....nutten no wrang wid pork.........up till a few years ago everything inna north america was cooked with pork lard so di whole a unna caan gaalang go talk seh unno no eat pork

so, if it's inherently bad, wouldn't it harm you anyway?

eg. waitresses getting cancer from second hand cigarette smoke. i've never heard of anyone getting killed from second hand bacon drippings.

Ther is a lot tha is happinning ig health that the causes hav enot yet been identified. It does not mean they are to to caused by the use of something thathas not yet been identified as the cause.

Seriously though, I respect anyone'e right to NOT eat poark if they choose. I also, expect them to respct my right to nyam ie if mi want, without browbeating mi about it.

An for si record, mi like ah likkle pigs-tail inna mi Stew-peas, even though mi wi tek it widout also.

only acculturation makes us think one way of one meat &amp; another way about another meat;
it all depends where you were born mostly...
you eat cow, but if you were in india you probably wouldn't. you think dog is disgusting but in the far east might be a tasty treat...some love shrimp but wouldn't touch frog...some eat pig but consider armadillo sick;
i don't care what people want to eat &amp; they should also repect what i choose not to eat;
it goes both ways, i won't lecture you &amp; you don't try to force me or convince me of the error of my ways regarding what we eat
