An open letter to the Prime minister




Dear Mr. Harper,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing Canada's economy.

Instead of giving billions of dollars to banks and car companies, that will squander
the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan:

There are about 20 million people over 50 in the work force.

Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Twenty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new Canadian CAR. Twenty million cars ordered -
Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

4) They must send their kids to School / College / University - Crime rate fixed

5) Buy $50 of alcohol / tobacco / gasoline a week... there's your money
back in duty / tax etc

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back
their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances.

20,000,000 x 1,000,000 = 20,000,000,000,000 (thats 20 trillion dollars)

teh GDP of Canada is about $1.4 Trillion

I read somewhere that Canada was apparently the ONYL developed country that was not suffering in the economic crisis??

Things are getting tight over here Amber..over 6% unemployment which is unheard of in oil rich Alberta.

Oh. Well they must have got the news wrong then, I was wondering at the time how this was possible seen as the US is one of it's biggest trading partners, well still 6% ain't bad...there's probably more fear than reality, like where I am.

Gold is so up I almost want to cry every day I think about what I have lost over the years and the opportunities I miss by been stuck here for six years. Even with that I have been able to by food and pay rent from the little I have in such a bad economy. I am actually surprised more than sad and pinch myself hoping that the rally will never end.
