I was a bit embarassed to ask that too,I`m glad you did,I`ve never heard of that ethnicity.

Well, to my knowledge it's someone of mixed race (South African call it coloured) coming from the Cape (Town) area of South Africa..........and maybe caucasian implied he was more &quot;white-looking&quot;...?

And before you start asking how that came to be in Northern Ireland, I know a South African there (but he's black, so it can't be him )

Yes,I agree this story has similarities,however,I believe that the kids in this instance could be psychologically damaged because of the colour difference because the parents hasnt exactly reconciled themselves to the colour difference,and also it was not their choice to have children whose colour differed from their own.

The parents sound ill prepared,and the way they handle not only the emotional and psychological aspects of the children`s upbringing,but also any claim for damages will later impact on how the kids see themselves.

yes that is the key difference. They have not reconciled themselves to the difference nor was this their original intent.

again, I am not one to subscribe that all mixed kids need be damaged just because....kind of ludricious. But parents have a role in the self-esteem development of all kinds no matter what their racial mixup is.....some times it is easier when certain factors are not at play but that doesnt mean a mixed heritage is some kind of death sentence to mental stability

Unfortunately, I don't have any objective data just personal anecdotes. No offense to any persons on the board - after all, I don't know any of you - but every black/white mixed person, especially men &amp; boys, and black person in a transracial adoption I've ever met absolutely despised black people.

An unwanted child is generally treated badly; add colour and payment to it and it likely that the bad treatment or at least ill feelings towards the child is maximized.
