<span style="font-weight: bold">Browns' Donte Stallworth pleads guilty to DUI manslaughter; gets 30 days in jail</span>

MIAMI - Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth is going to serve 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to a DUI manslaughter charge.

The plea deal announced today calls for the 28-year-old Stallworth to also serve 10 years' probation and do 1,000 community service hours for killing a pedestrian he hit with his car.

Stallworth had faced up to 15 years in prison.

Police say Stallworth was drinking at a hotel bar before the March 14 crash that killed 59-year-old construction worker Mario Reyes. Tests showed Stallworth's blood-alcohol content was .126.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Stallworth also reached a confidential financial settlement with the Reyes' family.</span>

A person close to the negotiations told The Associated Press about the agreement on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk about the deal.

Most of the times that they convict a person for attemptiong to sell an undrr civer officer drug,they actually do. Again we hear the dogs story and other story being compared with every other case where an NFL Player got arrested, charged and convicted, or a person seems to have got off lightly from a sentence and made the headlines.

This time the colour argument was left out because Mr. Stallworth is of course black so the comparison with Mr. Vicks colour was not necessary.

Look fool-fool people for the millionth time Vicks case was Federally adjudicated, Vick had multiple Counts, Vick had the best lawyers he could afford, Vick did not fully cooperate in the case nor hold up his end of the bargain.... oh there was a bargain just as in this case.

In this case it is apparent the Dante was able to buy out the family of the victim, every rich sports figure have that opportunity, especially in a local prosecution where you do not [censored] everyone off with your antics.

BTW the guy is under ten (10) years probation so it not like he has not been convicted!

Celebrity, he did the right thing immediately. Stayed on the scene, cooperated with officers, apologized for his wrongs, admitted he messed up, first time offender, nice personality.

What's not to understand? These types of things can happen outside of LA.

That was inevitable....they are a lower income family. The days after the accident, the victim's wife was demanding justice. By the time the funeral took place, she wasn't speaking that harshly of Stallworth.

Sad, but money really does talk.
