Interesting !....I`ve never heard this version before,I saw a documentary once where a witness recounted what actually happened,the witness didnt outlay the background,or what lead up to the attack,.....but did stated that one of the gunmen said...&quot;a kill mi come fe kill yu enno&quot;.

There are a lots of <span style="font-weight: bold">Fan</span>atics out there that will not believe that it is possible for these guys to be mortal and share in equal measure the Jamaican Culture/Subculture they were born and raised in.
Peter became very paranoid, especially after his last beating by the cops, so he started to carry a gun, Lobban who acted as his roadie took a gun charge for him <span style="font-style: italic">(both Peter Toash and Dennis was in the car the day they were stopped by the police)</span>, Peter promised to take care of it when he got out. I know I am repeating, but I wanted to say this part that I left out....

The problem was not between Peter and Lobban but Lobban and Peter's wife who had become the most trusted person in his life and took care of all the hangers on, etc.
She did not want to continue the payments to Lobban and it was after a particular bitter argument with her that he decided to go back to Peter Gates to sort him out.

Everyone in the streets knows it to be so, but the fanatics prefer that his death be mysterious assassination plot.

Once upon a time when I was living in California 2 elder Ras were in my dining room having this argument over the cause behind Peter Tosh's death. Both of them were close friends of Peter, one (my ex husband) was on Peter's last tour with him and the other was with him only a day before he died. A heated reasoning took place for hours. No need to go into details, other then to say that even these 2 Ras could not agree on the motive behind his death.

Well the 2 Ras was not there when Lobban walked up our street with a gun, stop and shared a spliff and said he was going to deal with Peter. Since he lived down the road, every time he was on his way back and forth to Peter's Gates he would give some details of his dealings with Peter and or Peter and his wife.
My guess is if Peter had paid what he agreed on all would be well, because Lobban was not even a bad man so to speak, he was just a person who would take care of whatever if he needed to.
