Rasbert Turner, Star Writer A St Catherine man who was assaulted after he reportedly refused to fall when touched on the forehead by a pastor during a church ceremony wants money for the injuries he suffered. The man has since retained the services of an attorney who has been negotiating an out-of-court settlement. The legal matter came about as a result of an incident where the man was assaulted for not feeling the 'spirit'. THE STAR was reliably informed that the church was on 'fire' when the pastor made an altar call. During the procession, he placed his hands on the foreheads of members who all fell and spoke in unknown tongues. The male member did not heed to the calling of the 'spirit' and decided to remain standing. His action is said to have peeved the clergyman who shoved the member and proceeded to punch and kick him. The man sought medical attention and acquired the services of a lawyer. It was revealed to THE STAR that a $1 million settlement is being sought by the injured man. "We have written the pastor and we have received agreement of a settlement for damages on our client's behalf," attorney-at-law Sean Kinghorn told THE STAR. |
