I have said it.
He was one of the architects of the plans to drive out legitimate businesspersons out of Jamaica in the 70s, but in the 90s-2Ks became one of the wealthiest Jamaicans by mining his Rolodex in the PNP Administration, sometimes illegally.
He and his partners primary game was trading in Government Paper, these guys know or care nothing about nuts and bolts building and running an economy.

Not only that he sat down as a silent partner with the Government of Jamaica while crime, corruption and the destruction of the economy was taking place for the last 19 years, why then would folks allow this clown to represent them?
I mean if the PNP would like to hand the Party over to a Joint Venture of <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Bunting/Golding and Dong </span>well more Power to them!

In the 70s I was in High School I could not vote until after the 1980 Election. In the 70s Willie Hogarth, Red Tony, General Starkey, George Phang, etc were either too young to vote or just reaching voting age, it did not stop our organizing our advising and in some cases burning, shooting and looting.

One morning I was going to school when the news report said there were houses burning on the Border of Trench Town and Rose town. The report mentioned that when the firemen went to put out the blaze, men as young as ten (10 y/o) years old were shooting at them.

Yes he does say it loud and clear. Not only that RichD I was there, the 70s Socialist Movement in Jamaica was an attack on established Jamaicans businesses, Culture and Social Life.
Its leader was telling us that 21 families were responsible for Jamaicans being in the situation they were, clearly Bunting and his ilk bought into that and if you read the whole article, traded in Bush Jacket in 80s and then set about de-regulating the same economy that they regulated in the 70s.

This is akin to a mongoose dining on itself. The PNP is so broke that only folks of independent means can aspire to any leadership or candidates spots. So now if is not JMMB or DBG, it has to be a Dual Citizen or a Union Man, only the Elite shall survive.

i was there too. the story quoted about bunting sounds the same as that of many of my school mates(and im sure it was similar at other high schools across jamaica)...pretty well anybody with any political leanings was jumping on the &quot;socialist' bandwagon...i woudl hardly characterrize them as architects of the PNP policy even though today many of them are in key positions.

Again you are avoiding his own words on the subject.... His was not just a casual jumping in and even if we omit all the 70s from his profile we come to 80s and the 90s when he was advising deregulation and while that was going on the PNP was systematically destroying other entrepreneurs that were involved in a similar vocation that he himself later profited from.

Not only did he profit but also he later admitted that some aspects involved illegal activity between Dr. Davies and his outfit.
Then there is his political campaigns which on more than one occasion involved bussing in supporters and violence in both the run up to the Clarendon Election against the Mr. Shearer and recently against the Sally Porteous.
This guy is not fit to be a leader of anything but his banks; he is knee deep in the corrupt practices on the PNP whilst it was in Government.

Of course AK Duncan is even worse than him and if this is all the PNP have good luck and say go for it. They will be in Opposition for the next 40 years choosing either of these two jokers.

The PNP has basically become a rich man’s club controlled by two very successful Investment Houses and a powerful Don.
Now I dare anyone to challenge me on whatever I have to say about this D. K, if I don’t know anyone I at least know this man. He was my dentist <span style="font-style: italic">(I still have his fillings in my mouth)</span>, our Constituency Rep for two terms and we still have the scars to prove it.
As one person wrote to me recently next up as PNP GenSec <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">AK Duncan</span>.

The resounding defeat of the PNP in the recent North-East St Catherine by-election has once more focused the attention of the political pundits on the future viability of the party. This is the second of such defeats and there is the strong suggestion that the others to be held in Clarendon and St Ann will fare no better for the PNP.

These defeats are particularly jarring for a party that in recent times has been seen as an election-winning machine. What might have stood as a bastion of party political acumen is now becoming a millstone around its neck: the party is neither winning elections nor does it seem placed to win any in the near future. This is the third defeat of the party at important polls since the 2007 elections. The scenario has to be a matter of grave concern to the party hierarchy. One can expect to see some serious fallout from the most recent loss.
My advice is not one that the party will be well disposed to accept since fanatical supporters of the party have told me in the past to leave &quot;PNP business&quot; alone, whatever that business is. But they would be well advised not to contest the other two seats, however difficult it may be not to go up against Michael Stern. They believe they have a strong chance in that Clarendon constituency and seem disposed to pull out all the stops to put up a good showing there.
Notwithstanding this, the party would be well advised to take a deep breath and prevent the loss by attrition which eventually weakens the party and chips away at its relevance to the Jamaican political community at this time. It was foolish to have contested the St Catherine seat. If they knew they did not have a fighting chance as some in the party seem to be admitting, they would not have hurt themselves by not contesting as they did contesting.
Frankly, this is not the time for the party to be contesting elections. It is time for moral rearmament in the party. The crisis that the party faces is one of identity. The fundamental questions to be answered are who we are, what we want to achieve and what we need to do to get there. The Meeks Committee provided a strong foundation that could lead to answers to these questions, but to date there is no real indication that the party has taken this report with the seriousness it deserves. One can live in denial as so many institutions and people often do, but denial does not remove the import of the reality that drives a particular situation and that needs to be faced for meaningful change to take place.
This change means more than just huddling around archaic principles that no longer work. One of those principles is that a party exists only to win elections; only to wield power over other people's lives. It means having the right kind of leadership that understands the difference between philosophy and ideology. An ideologue will hold steadfastly to positions even though he has been convinced about the irrationality of holding that position. A person driven by a philosophical basis for change will do what is necessary to change his position and effect the change that is necessary. Not so the ideologue; he is irredeemably and foolishly committed to his position which will eventually pull the organisation he is leading into disrepute.
Philosophies are not driven by the rigid dogmas of ideological irrationality. Even Michael Manley in his second term at governance saw the rationality of changing rigid ideological positions, though he did not go far enough. Is this ideological rigidity what Mr Peter Bunting, general secretary, was thinking about when he posted that eminent quotation from Albert Einstein on his Facebook page soon after the party lost in North East St Catherine?
The party needs a new philosophy of change and an end to the rotten ideology which most Jamaicans have no interest in. This new philosophy informed by its founding documents is not for the leader of the party alone to forge. It is true that she has to be the main driver of this change, but the entire leadership of the party has a stake in this. While they mutter under their breath as to the viability of a Portia Simpson Miller, they must honestly ask themselves whether they too are adequate to the task, and whether a tired ideology of the past is that which will guarantee a viable PNP in the consciousness of the Jamaican people. Instead of seeking to contest elections they may want to give their energy to this task of self-examination and renewal.

And he dropped to the floor and pulled out his weapon.
It is kind of strange that under that circumstance the photographer was so cool and collective.
Not worrying that he could be shot.
It may mean it was all staged complete with gleaner photographer and news reporter on hand.
Anyway way that is now water under the bridge.

not only was the gleaner on hand JBC TV was on hand too ..i never forget the footage....the meeting was in spanish town ..comrade leader was speaking when gunfire broke out down the road...DK pushed comrade leader to the ground and dropped down beside him pulliing out his &quot;9&quot; getting ready to return fire if necessary.
