So mi read a copy of Life magazine fr Nov 1969, an it ha dis article pon Jesse Jackson...Black Hope White Hope: the Jesse Jackson style...militant but nonviolent...so dat was di fuss eye-opener re how JJ use to have mainstream blessing and den dis from the body of the article;

"JJ has been hailed both as the great white hope because he is successfully nonviolent and as the great black hope because he is successfully pursuing economic parity for blacks."

the article went on to clarify how his boycott of A&P 'exemplifies this success'

hard to believe dat all dat change dese days...wen di lass time him said actions get cawl 'poverty pimping' ;grin'
