MANCHESTER A cab driver who raped a man on a night out is being hunted by police.

The victim was heading home from the city centre at 6am on Sunday when he got into a private-hire car and asked to be taken to Salford.

He got out at The Quays and went into an apartment building. The attacker followed him inside, grabbed him and raped him in the stairwell.

Police say the man was left traumatised by his ordeal.

They say the cab was a silver VW Passat private hire car, with a `taxi' sign on the roof. The man got in the car on Quay Street, Manchester.

The attacker was in his late 20s or early 30s and dark skinned.

He was about 5ft 9in, slightly overweight and had short brown or black hair. He had a beard and brown eyes and was wearing a brown leather jacket and a dark green jumper.
