In the wake of a botched kidnapping of a Chinese businessman in Jacks Hill, St. Andrew three weeks ago, investigators have detained the helper of the businessman for questioning.
A second suspect has also been taken into custody.
On June 3, gunmen travelling in a vehicle drove to the upscale Jack's Hill community to kidnap the Chinese businessman who operates a well known restaurant in the Corporate Area.
However, the vehicle was intercepted by a police team and during a running gun-battle, one of the gunmen was shot dead and an illegal gun seized.
One of the gunmen escaped, but the cops held onto the driver.
Following investigation, the helper was detained for questioning.
