Thursday, 25 June 2009
RJR News understands that detectives from the Montego Bay CIB in St. James have questioned two suspects they believe can help them locate Montego Bay businessman Thomas Chambers and his wife, Marjoke, who have been missing for two weeks.
The two men were arrested on Tuesday when they were caught scrapping the vehicle which was being driven by the couple at the time of their disappearance
The vehicle, a Nissan Expert, was found in Drewsland in Kingston.
A senior investigator at the Area Four Police Headquarters told RJR News that investigators from Montego Bay questioned the two men Wednesday as they continue their search for clues to the whereabouts of the Caucasian couple.
He declined to say whether the detectives were able to get any useful information from the men.
The 63-year old realtor and politician and his 65-year old wife have not been seen since they left their home in Spot Valley, St. James on June 12.
The couple left home Friday for an undisclosed location and have not been seen or heard from since.
Mr. Chambers, a well-known figure in the Montego Bay business community, ran on the People's National Party ticket in the Salt Spring Division in St. James during the last local Government election.
Members of the Montego Bay business community have criticised the police for what they describe as the lack of urgency in trying to find the missing couple.
