Especially if the prescription is feeding an addiction to drugs rather than treating the condition?

Whazzup with these bastards? They must be quite a few out there, for after the death of Ana Nicole Smith and that guy who posthumously won the Oscar last year met the same fate, we see where it is still happening.

If mi haff time, mi wi "google" the Lit., and si wha mi find, but it is a known FACT, that there are m any out there, who they "catch" from time to time selling prescriptions for that sole reason...feeding the habit. </div></div>

You know britisha,I`m still trying to get my head around why so many celebrities are so dependent on medication,...why do these guys need to take so many tablets/prescritions,....they have wealth in abundance.....why do they have to rely on drugs to keep them sane,...me and you survive on a tiny fraction of what these guys earn in one day.

Now it is alleged that Jackson had Xanax - for anxiety, Zoloft for depression and Demerol in his system at the time of his demise...

Now mi did type wan whole lang sinting and lost it, so now mi amembah...noh di same thing did happen to Elvis Presley...

He was allegedly so addicted it was unreal..dem sed he needed a drug to go to sleep, a drug to stay awake, a drug for this and a drug for that...how can a MEDICAL "doctor" **chukkle** one commited to the HIPPOCRATIC OATH..commit such malpractice?

Where is their conscience? How can they encourage the suffering of these unfortunate souls?

NB that they "prey" on the rich and famous and peeps who are "hiding" the fact about their demons and will rely on them to prescribe; when they, the DOCS are no better than addicts in the streets, since they are getting their financial "fix" from these so-called "patients."

Now on CNN mi a si seh one doctor saying that there are a plethora of "doctors" in Hollywood who are "drug pushers" by initiating and "perpuating" the condition....[just as I hinted above]...pushers for their "financial fix.."

How Michael did ask him for prescription ie narcotic for "pain"

Laawd, him a bawl hout Michael's bizniz, seh him knew dat MJ was taking Oxycontin.

Mi bin thinking bout this thread before mi tuned in to this programme, and here goes one in the "profession" **chukkle* who is also upset about dis.

Thanks TG, oh yes, there are not a "few" there are thousands of them out there, some of them even "buy their license" or practising with other peeps license while they abuse the 'patients" and the law...

Yes, in some States, malpractice is punishable with jail time.

This "doctor" who was on CNN said something about him being able to call names if and when the police "start investigating" which he is hoping that they do.

Those bastards, surprisingly also, many of them are on drugs as well...I guess they feel the addicts pain, but are so strung out, they are unable to make rational decision re the "patient' and their own actions...

Now, that so-called "doctor" who was allegedly at Jackson's home during the catastrophe, it is said was performing "CPR."

CPR is becoming as basic as being able to dial 911. Even kindergartners are learning about CPR.

Now, my point is, if he was a "rear..err real doctor" he would have been INFORMED on how to perform, including when to dial 911/call for help.

Calling for help [one man rescuer or otherwise] should be done after ONE FULL MINUTE of CPR, no later...now it is alleged that this "dude" was there for 45 minutes before he called for help?

Did *I* get this wrong? For I don't want to misjudge the person...butt...if annuh suh...a almoas suh...

Never start a sentence with "since'...howeva, since he did all the correct things why did he allegedly run away? Why are they looking for him? Doesn't this compound his dillemma? Are there skeletons hiding in his "doctor's closet?"...agen no pun intended.

This is becoming more and more bizarre..

britisha that wasn't just 'any' doctor, that's Deepak Chopra. famous author, motivational speaker, and natural healer.....he specializes in meditation, ayurvdic healing, self-awareness, and holistic healing. also is an MD but his main focus is natural healing; he's known to be against doctors who over-prescribe "legal" narcotics & enable addicts. says Michael spent time at his center for natural healing and wellness, and that he "desperately" wanted to help MJ heal his pain and lose the addictions, through meditation and natural means. his kids played with MJ's kids as well, and went on tour with them, apparently they knew one another.

I thought that is who they announced would be doing the interview, but not sure further on in the discussion.. I didn't know that he would come out and talk so adamantly about Michael's problems; and MJ asking him for a "prescription" which might violate HIPPA law...[patient/physician confidentiality].

He made one good point about the "initiating and the perpetuating.." There are thousands of people out there who are addicted to "prescribed medications' all started by lazy and incompetent doctors who really want to take the easy way out [esp if the patient has good insurance] and mask symptoms instead of either treating the patient, or making referrals in cases that are beyond their scope of practice.

i believe HIPAA and doctor-patient privilege only formally applies if you are actually the treating physician. i think he was speaking more from a personal perspective of a friend (albeit one with credible medical knowledge) concerned for someone he cared about. not sure how nice it is to be talkin MJ's business, but then again the man spoke the truth as he knows it out of concern, not out of gossip - so...... i dunno

just my own guess though

right. his focus is healing the actual underlying issues, thru holistic means (as opposed to just chemically medicating symptoms), so people can get <span style="font-weight: bold">off</span> chemical drugs. so it makes sense he would speak out against quacks.
