Doctors make their living pushing &quot;legal&quot; drugs. Imagine all of the people on prozac and sleeping pills. Then there are millions that take pain pills... even Viagra they get their cut.

The drug manufacturers are the real Don's of the whole scam. They give direct kick backs to many doctors who just prescribe their drug over the competitors.

Big Pharm is the reason that pot is still illegal... their resources are limitless. However, just giving doctors a cut, like they get in California, Oregon, and Connecticut, has opened the door a little. Any politician you hear bloviating about the horrors of pot, is taking money from pharmaceutical companies... trust me.

Most doctors stopped using it except under certain circumstances according to Wiki!
I went to pick up my washing first day from the lady who washes for me, a pill-head.
So she said Michael died and I said heard what might have killed him?
She yeah Demerol and Xanax.

So I said why are you still taking pills, she said he mixed both of them and this is dangerous…she then proceeded to give me a long lecture as to how she takes her pills?
Michael’s death is not going to prevent one addict to stop abusing drugs.

What makes me throw-up are the ads on TV that Big Pharm buys. And many of them at the end (to protect themselves from the abulance chasing lawyers) with a long list of things that <span style="font-style: italic">may</span> happen. Long a$$ lists that may end up saying that well yes sometimes our drug can kill you... they say it very fast. The people are smiling. They hold hands and look into each others eyes.

the Farrah Fawcett cancer treatment thing caught my eye.
For melanoma I was given the option of a years worth of injections of interferon, of a dosage 10 times what they treat Hep C people with. I also have a 6'7&quot; friend who went through that treatment for Hep C and fortunately it worked, but he couldn't get out of bed for more than 4 hrs. a day and was a walking zombie for a year and a half. They admitted that the whole procedure would increase my odds 17% over an unspecified time, if successful (meaning, if I was able to follow through with it, and it didn't kill me). I'm 59 yrs. old. There ought to be a law against people with big educations marketing that crap. They get away with it cuz they put it under the catagory of &quot;acceptable research&quot; on people who they think are going to die anyway, without it. Western medicine sucks. It robs people of their spirituality, not to mention the money.

Farrah went for the holistic route to avoid the debilitating effects and hair loss. The cancer returned, but she was already in stage 4 with liver and bone involvement. She then underwent the chemo and radiation treatement which if she had done it inititially she had an 80% survival rate. At stage 4 or even stage 3 a colostomy is advised.

Queenb ...I know a lot of cancers are treatable. A friend who came to visit me 3 wks. ago survived 3 yrs. of chemo on a brain tumor. It was heartbreaking to see him during that time...but I'm glad he went through it!!! My case is different.
Sounds like FF was straddling the fence....which I feel doesn't work well with anything!
Anyway...I tend to lean toward <span style="font-style: italic">quality</span> of life...due to experiences with fambly and people close to me...particularly my father who clung on to life <span style="font-style: italic">at all costs </span> as he was battling prostate cancer. I spent 7 yrs. of my life taking care of him and my mom (who was paralyzed,and had heart problems).
She literally chose to die 10 days after him (by having the doctor take her off meds), the morning after my birthday. . These days <span style="font-style: italic">I'm</span> into keeping things simple and runnin on a certain degree of faith.
