Maybe Christon Scriven should take that age old quote, ‘Who needs enemies when you have friends like mine?’ to heart.
We say that because Scriven, a young Black man, is said to be one of Dylann Storm Roof‘s “best friends.” Yes, you read that right.
Not only that, Scriven, 21, says it doesn’t matter that Roof – who’s alleged to have killed 9 Black churchgoers because they were Black to incite a race war – he still loves him.
In a twisted kind of way, Scriven seems to be trying to come up with excuses for Roof’s killing spree. Speaking with The Telegraph, he revealed that Roof talked about doing a mass shooting at the University of Charleston when they were drunk on vodka last week.
He said that the school was the “primary target,” and not the and not the historically black Emanuel AME church, where Roof murdered six women and three men on Wednesday.

The enemies are not so much from without as from within the race.

I have no desire to take all black people back to Africa; there are blacks who are no good here and will likewise be no good there.

As Blu posted earlier, I think it possible that the terrorist/killer had a GF that left him for a black guy and it was jealousy which cause him to act on his deep rooted racist views. Before he was dumped he was a racist but was able to hold onto friendships with black youths even though he probably always (secretly perhaps) looked at them as inferior.

Yes, Milo, I agree that possibility is highly plausible.
Still, how come in this day and age we have black people unable to see racism when it is right in their face? From I moved to the US as a child, I learned to recognise white devils and knew to avoid them or drop them if they had been "friends". Why does Christon Scriven lack this instinct for self-preservation? Is his thirst for for acceptance and validation from white people so deep? Cho.Last edited by Blackstar*; 06-23-2015, 08:55 AM.

Anyway, I guess I should stop worrying about Christon and his ilk; it's a lost cause.
“There are Negroes who will never fight for freedom. There are Negroes who will seek profit for themselves alone from the struggle. There are even some Negroes who will cooperate with their oppressors. These facts should distress no one. Every minority and every people has its share of opportunists, profiteers, free-loaders, and escapists.”
