i don't think it' s about anyone 'hating white people'...it is a matter of self pride;

yet if a jamaican makes the same argument about britain he will be accused of being a hateful racist...
the americans went to war against the british king and once they got their independence they did away with the british king as they respected their new nation- why would they continue to consider the king their head?
it's just not logical, especially in a country like jamaica- founded on the principle of racism &amp; exploitation against the african and genocide against the native arawaks;
i have nothing against the british monarchy, they do what they do- i'm just opposed to them being jamaica's offcial head of state- based on historical relationships- not based on anything she in particular did to any member of my family or myself

It is my perogative to disagree with the quote but you were so blinded by your own feelings that the first thing you needed to say was that I was attacking someone personally because I disagree and still disagree that they used an irrelevant quote to make a point.

Stand corrected indeed. That was your intent to look for something that wasnt even there in the first place.

It is fascinating that someone would use such a quote to promulgate black independence from white monarchy by using someone who would defend it to the hilt and slit the throats of any black man to further said cause. If the irony of that is lost on you then so be it.

Read the whole book and then you will see why taking a small quote out of context to the whole is misleading.
