How many wives keep a keen eye on what hubby does at work. She still has money though. So it really nuh mattah.

That woman had to know what is/ws going on...and I am strongly betting that this is why the FEDS are showing no mercy...btw, she is still left wid 2 millions which might be ripped from under her.


this man robbed not only some honest people who worked hard for their money and now<span style="font-weight: bold"> in their senior years searching garbage cans for soda cans to sell, but he also robbed CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS</span> THAT entrusted their money to this fraudster...to tell me that she slept in the same bed with him and didn't have even an inkling of what was going on IS A BARE-FACED LIE !!

Heard that she said how sooorry she is, if she is so sorry why doesn't she pony up that two million or even a part of it to that 90 plus senior citizen who is now working in the supermarket for minimum wage to make ends meet?

Then and only then, would I waste my pity on her....these people are responsible for SOME RETIREMENT FUNDS BEING COMPLETELY WIPED OUT...what about those employees and THEIR CHILDREN? ...and shi asking to kip fur coat?

Truss mi Pepper, I strongly believe that there was some intense investigation for them to come to this stage, where they threw her out into the street with only the stitch on her back..Actually they are seizing what is in the house, I guess it matters not what she has there...<span style="font-style: italic">imagining her trying to conceal the 20 carat diamond ring</span>...

Many more are under scrutiny as we speak, especially the sons...I still fail to believe that ONE MAN could orchestrate and pull off such a crime FOR YEARS without the family not even suspecting what was going down..

This will be a case of yuh can run but yuh cannot hide..let them feel what the victims are undergoing now. An eye for an eye is a really wikkid law.

I know you are peeved @ the entire madoff situation. But seriously, it is extremely rare that women married to men that make that kind of money are aware of hubby's personal business affairs.

The fed are carrying on like that because the entire case is a media circus, lots of people are affected, so the show must go on.

I am not saying she is innocent, but I doubt she knew. If anything, he would purposefully keep her out of it. Otherwise she would be liable to go to jail. Look at it logically, chances of her being involved are slim to none.

I can only sincerely hope that you are right, because while one is peeved enuff to call for their heads, I think I've mentioned that I wouldn't like to have a dog in Madoff's shoes right now.


In fact, when the verdict came down, I prayed for him that the Lord will give him strength to bear, for the shift the dramatic shift from King to pauper in jail can mad him...with all that being said, I cannot find it in me to feel any pity for they scammed so many people...the stories wrench at the heart, and raise the question as to what would be the most appropriate punishment. In fact, I've shed a tear, when I see some of them on the tele and hear their stories,

..it is a case of no more can one's money protect them from the law..as I said to that same fellow this morning, he Madoff didn't consider his wife...still inconsiderate, must have been thinking that he would die before the story broke...how silly.


Justice would NOT be served if she continues to live like the rich and famous while that little senior citizen must get up every day to go to work for pennies, when he had his money in Madofff's trust..not one bit of that!.

i thought she knew that the feds were coming to take the house back

ascording to cnbc and bloomberg, them saying that she was allowed 2.5 million dollars (from some sort of policy that she had before she married madoff), but everything else she had to give up.

the news shoot picture with her riding the subway (some kinda 1st for her). i am sure that 2.5 million is pennies compared to what she may have been used to...but she isnt destitute.


i feel bad for her...i understand that her kids, but especially her are shell shock over what madoff did.

all of it is just so sad....greed is a terrible thing.

Yes, I agree...ill gotten gains, feds have to take them back. Whatever they seize from her assets, that's how it goes.

Is she guilty of fraud, again, I would doubt that. He would have no reason to tell her he was running a scam. He had a legitimate storefront, ran what looked like a respectable business. Remember, he came from nothing. As he moved up and made a name for himself, why would she be looking over his books? (although he had two sets)

she gets to live on 125,000 per year which is more than most people, and if she wants her dollar to stretch I suggest she move to florida and get settled in a condo in a 55+ community.


dem have some dunga galt ocean in the 55 and over community she can get one fi 86,000 with water view.

Really no way of knowing if she was aware or not. But I can't imagine letting her keep any of those ill gotten gains.

It's certainly sad and I feel for her to a point. But what should she be allowed to keep? A house? A car? I don't think so. The rest of the world is struggling to get by too.

Maybe she can take Social Security and get into subsidised senior housing. Food stamps will probably be available as well.

I hope Bernie's in jail with some poor retiree's nephew.
