Or, perhaps the answer is something more immediate and universal: she did it for the money.

With a book due out next spring and the opportunity to make a good amount of money on the speaking circuit, Palin's motivation could have been simply to capitalize financially on her fame.

As Fox News puts it, Palin will have &quot;a variety of potential platforms, from writing books to hitting the public speaking circuit to working directly with the Republican Party to get candidates elected&quot; from which to pursue her goals. And in the process, &quot;the ability to make a lot of money -- far more than the $125,000 or so a year she has earned as governor.&quot;

Similarly, Democratic strategist Bob Shrum told Politico that the Palins would likely never have to worry about money again given the Alaska governor's earning power.

&quot;She could make more in two weeks on just speaking fees than in the rest of her time as governor,&quot; said Shrum.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) had made up her mind to resign from office as early as Wednesday, her successor implied Saturday.

Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell (R) said that Palin had informed him of her decision to quit the governorship on Wednesday evening,

&quot;The governor called me to her office Wednesday evening, and she described it to me pretty much how she described it to the public yesterday,&quot; Parnell said during an interview on NBC's &quot;Today&quot; show this morning.

Parnell echoed the sentiments of many political observers in his reaction.

&quot;I was surprised, just like the rest of America has been,&quot; he said.

Well, she already tried that with Trig. She wasn't even good at it; she often abandoned the poor baby with one of the daughters.

She can't possibly want to run for president in 2012 because even she should know that four years as governor is more experience than two and half years. Completing her term would have allowed her to deepen her understanding of policies - statewide as well as national (if that is possible).

Having tasted what life is like in the lower 48, Alaska must have seemed boring. Plus there's the matter of completing her multi-million dollar book deal, and then commanding huge speaking fees - yes, she still attracts a large following. And of course, some plum gigs in conservative media. It's the money stupid!

That, or something big is about to break. And I don't mean, ethics investigations by state police or even FBI. More salacious stuff.

If she completed her term as governor, that would be a first. Well she may have completed a term as mayor.. but did she?/ did she really??

That what some of her GOP backers are saying...I don't see it.
Oh yes they might try that but there will be more rabid Bloggers around just waiting to rehash every bruiser she has even been in.
Not only that she can't keep her trap shut, so there will be a ton of new material to hit her with.

According to Johnston’s bodyguard/publicist, Tank, he is planning to write a book that may also focus on the Wasilla, Alaska, political family.

“There are still many untold stories about the Palins,” the New York Post quoted Tank as saying.

Meanwhile, Palin has decided to step down from the post of Alaska Governor.

Her decision to resign from office, when she still has more than a year left to complete her term, has evoked mixed reactions.

Palin’s decision to quit at the end of the month has left political observers scratching their heads, and wondering whether this is the beginning of her run for the White House in 2012, or the end her career in politics. (ANI)
