Seems the government will have a minority share. I am concerned about the service. The other air lines that fly to Jamaica treat you like &quot;CAKKLE&quot; and horde people in the plane.

those who have been shouting for privatization fall in one of 2 camps one set represent those who want to be able to take government out of the transportation business so that they can manipulate the fares and seats.
and those who are too naive to realize that privatisation was beneficial to the country you would not have SO many other people who have no interest in what is good for Jamaica supporting it.
Jamaica will have to pay as much as it was spending on Air Jamaica and still won't get the level of service to show for it. Just wait until they sell it again like happen to the light and power company.

The first change is tio change the name to Spirit of Jamaica. Thenthe next change will be downsize the name and only have one or 2 planes with the name. then develope a spirit of the Caribbean and then water down the service to jamaica and start charging higher fares since they won't have to compete with a Jamaican controlled airline.

Didn't you wholeheartedly support the corrupt Governments of the last 19 years that did nothing to make sure the country could afford Air Jamaica?

Worst outcome possible...see <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Jamaica Public Service</span>.
The Jamaican Government needed to let this one go without getting involved.
If we wanted to stay in the Airline business we should not have prostituted Air Jamaica for some many years reducing it to nothing but <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Air Joke</span>.

The GOJ could have sold the hardware but kept the routes, which would have allowed some measure of control, profit and less personnel, but since it already gave away the best parts and have nothing to show for it, why make Jamaican Citizens keeping paying through the nose for zero returns?

Knowing Jamaica I would be surprised if the GOJ manage to divest any of the public entities they are trying to sell, except maybe land and old vehicles.
Even a recent public auction of motor vehicles at the Customs Department had to be halted.

These things are unprofitable and the GOJ must get rid on them it does seem however that the Jamaica does not have even a single negotiating position that is advantageous to the country.
The GOJ and its partner(s) gets an endless sales loop and come away selling nothing, sell something at some crazy deal where they end up holding an empty bag with the buyer walking off with the goods, sell something at price that is little more than a give away with a promise of the buyer to spend money on it that never materialize, or all of the above.

I think it way past the time for Jamaicans everywhere to feel ashamed of our weak and totally inept Governments <span style="font-style: italic">(except for one or two flash in the pan that was quickly lost0</span> that we have had since the 70s.
