okay, I am gonna see if I can figure out which book you are referring to because it seesm like an interesting read.

But your comment about your neighbor is making my point. How many ppl would believe or know that what you have said existed for the Scottish until WWII. I bet this is news to a lot of ppl.

Isnt this "apprenticeship" just a continuation of long held feudal practices?

I dont think knowing about other ppl's history in any way diminishes my legacy at all.

There is Captain Blood that touches on how anyone could be sent into slavery in England in the 17th C.
