and how did Michael Jackson ever get ownership of the Beatles Catalog anyway?

I suppose he bought it just as others who own catalogues do.
Do you think that the Indians should get back the lands that the whites took?
Don't they sound like the same clogic ould be applied to any other property that any person l own?

I think the catalogue has been bequeathed to MJ's children - but maybe McCartney can get it back after some legal ginnalism (is ginnalism a Jamaican word?)

That's how MJ managed to outbid Paul M for it. I could be wrong about the catalogue being in MJ's will for his kids.

Last I read, it was said that he owns the catalogue, but has a $95m loan (50% stake) from Sony secured on it, but the catalogue is worth far more than that.
No doubt the many dubious lawsuits seeking to reduce MJs wealth, would also have had an objective of trying to force him to relinquish control of this controversial asset.

McCartney stayed with MJ at Neverland at one point and said the catalogue was up for sale for $40 million. Michael called his advisors and offered McCartney $47 million and bought it. MJ sold half but the other half he kept is worth billions MJ was a businessman and not just an entertainer. That's the problem with the entertainers of today, they don't want any part of the business end of it. Michael was shrewd in that way. He knew and was involved in all kinds of music ....his kind of talent will never be replaced.
