The majoroty of vosotors that get ribbed or murdered in Jamaic was attempting to do underhand,business with the cronies of the ribbers/killers.
If any person put out a feeler to buy a gun in Jamaica, you wil get a positive hit in probably hours.

I wrote about this just last week. That as theypay the securoity guards lower and lower,they will attract mostly those who see it as a means to tob those they are suppose to prptect. I am bot saying that the guard did it , but usually wher thes incidences hapen, the security is in most instances ivolved in the perp gaining access. Paying people a few dollars per hour to preserve the safety of others,while at the same time bringin that guard in proximity to much more that ne can ever expect to earn, is a disasater in waiting.

It was just on our news now, and they said that there were 2 men involved (hmmnn...maybe you are right?) And the husband was protecting his wife, as they were asked for money and a cellphone.

The poor grandmother (who raised him) was distraught. We are a little country, with a small population of 4million (and sooooo far away from everyone! dwl) so I guess it does hit home when one of our fellow kiwis gets killed overseas.

</div></div>I know what you are saying. It is not fair. It is not fair for people to expect safe sorroundings,and tiobe faced with a culture where the whole country is in the grips of criminal gunmen.
The earnings of teh average security personnel including th epolice and army is so comparatively low that it does not offer them the opportunioty to live a normal middle class life withoutdoing eithe ra second job, of something illegal.
this furter propells the unequal distribution of wealth which is already is so extraordinary that the normal tools used to maintain a safe sorrounding is unadequate.
this is te result of a policy that prevent the majority of Jamaican from adequately preserving their ssfety.
So th ewhole country i sheld together by very wesk policies. thes policies expect to pay workers below livable wage, while preventingthem from ssfe guarduingit from guncriminals,while protecting those whi are making thekilling and sending it all tio foreigh tax havens wher they retire after they becometo old torake in the dough..

Watchman being questioned as probe of foreigner's killing continues

Members of the Major Investigation Task Force are questioning the lone watchman assigned to a guesthouse on Upper Montrose Road in St, Andrew where a New Zealand national was shot and killed Tuesday night.

Tiki Hunia, 27, a foreign consultant who was staying at the guest house with his wife was allegedly killed during an attempted robbery.

It is reported that shortly after 8pm, Mr. Hunia and his wife were sitting in a recreation area at the guest house when a man walked up and demanded his cellular phone.

Mr. Hunia reportedly refused to comply with the intruder's demand and attempted to flee but was shot in the back.

His wife escaped while the killer ran off.

The injured foreigner was taken to hospital where he died.

A senior investigator told RJR News that there is not much security at the guesthouse.

POLICE QUESTION WITNESSES IN MURDER OF CONSULTANT
Thursday, July 09, 2009
HOMICIDE detectives from the Major Investigative Task Force yesterday interrogated several witnesses who were present at a guest house in St Andrew where a New Zealand national was shot and killed during a robbery attempt on Tuesday night.
He has been identified as 27-year-old Tiki Stardust Steel Hunia of Sheung Wan in Hong Kong.
Police say Hunia and his wife, and other guests were at the Upper Montrose Road property when two men entered and robbed the patrons of cash and cellular phones.
One of the robbers, who was armed with a gun, shot Hunia three times in the upper body after he refused to hand over his cellular phone.
The men then escaped on foot.
Hunia was taken to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
His wife was not injured.
Yesterday, detectives interviewed the owner of the guest house and all the persons present during the robbery. A watchman who works at the premises was also interrogated.
Several top-ranked officers spent much of yesterday in a meeting as they tried to ascertain the identities of the two robbers.
