What I find sad is that he took it upon himself to lecture black youth on how they should act and what they should wear etc... . in order to make themselves "respectful". In retrospect maybe he was overcompensating for his own moral shortcomings.

My question is this (to the community). In light of this revealed information, are you (collectively speaking) going to still watch any programs produced, directed or starred in by Bill Cosby?

My Looh, to call giving dozens of women a street drug then raping them a "personal failing" trivializes the seriousness of what is in reality a violent, criminal act. Many of them had been offered a drink as well. That none of them died from the combination of Quaaludes (or whatever other sedative he used) and alcohol is sheer luck and were it not for that, he may have been facing murder charges as well.

Cosby has not spent any time behind bars because he is a wealthy celebrity and young, aspiring talent, like these women were at the time they were raped, are intimidated by that. Unfortunately he is a wealthy celebrity because I, and many others, made him that way by supporting (directly or indirectly) his "body of work".

I cannot rationalize continuing to support Bill Cosby's performances in the knowledge that by so doing, I am contributing in any way whatsoever, no matter how small, his ability to avoid the consequences of his behavior. I could not care less at this point how brilliant a comedian he was. I am not capable of that level of compartmentalization.

It would seem dat di women stated on record that, they were aware of the Quaalude, and voluntarily took them. In addition since Quaalude were not illegal at the time, when asked (if he intended to give them to women), in context with what the women previously stated he said, "yes". If mi was him lawyer, mi would have had him state it in a different manner, since in a civil case him can not tek di "5th". In dat specific situation I think it was a complete distortion of the actual facts.

Mi still tink di judge committed judicial misconduct in releasing unsealing and releasing di records because of his personal gripes.

While the woman's name was redacted in the deposition transcript, Cosby's lawyers say in a motion filed the following month, "Defendant testified that he offered Quaaludes to Theresa Serignese, and that she knowingly took them."

An attorney who represents three Cosby accusers, including Serignese, told "CNN Tonight" that "it appears" Cosby was talking about Serignese, although Joseph Cammarata stopped short of saying for sure.
Previously, Serignese had told ABC's "20/20" that she was a 19-year-old model visiting Las Vegas when Cosby handed her pills in a private dressing room after a performance.
"Take these," Cosby told her, according to Serignese.
After consuming the pills, she remembered "feeling drugged, and I was kind of leaning forward, and he was EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT with me. And I -- I remember it because it was not good."
Serignese did not immediately make public accusations in 1976. She explained her decision in a November 2014 article she wrote in the New York Daily News.
"Cosby was everywhere. Everyone thought he was a great family man. I knew he wasn't. I just couldn't prove it with anything but my word," Serignese wrote. "There was no video camera or DNA evidence. No one else had accused him publicly yet."
Too late to prosecute

Cosby, 77, had fought the release of the documents, arguing it would violate his and others' privacy and be a source of embarrassment.
One of his accusers, Patti Masten, said many more women have messaged her privately with similar accusations.
"We're up to 48 accusers. There are many who have not come forward," she said.
But in most of the cases, the statute of limitations has passed, preventing prosecution.
Nonetheless, Bowman said the new revelation is "a game changer."
"I think we're going to be heard now. And I think this is just the beginning.

Joan Tarshis on Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Allegation: 'I Was Sickened, Embarrassed, Humiliated'



When Joan Tarshis first met Bill Cosby back in 1969, she was a starstruck 19-year-old trying to make it as a comedy writer.

Cosby was starring in The Bill Cosby Show, which ran from 1969-71, and in which he played a physical education teacher at a Los Angeles high school.

Tarshis now claims what she thought was a mentorship soon turned into a nightmare. This week, with a scandal exploding over several women's past and current accusations that Cosby sexually assaulted them, she told her story for the first time, she says, to "support the women who came before me."

In an interview with PEOPLE, Tarshis, 66, recounted what she says happened.

"I met him through friends who knew him, and they lunched with him at his bungalow on the set in between shooting the show," she says.

"They invited me to go along," she says. "Then I was asked to come back to a few other lunches and I did."

He made her Bloody Marys, which he topped with a little bit of beer and called "Red Eyes," she says.

"He was very charming. Kinda funny. Kinda quiet," says Tarshis, a former publicist and journalist. "He was very free with the food and drinks. I noticed he wasn't drinking anything, though."

After learning she was an aspiring comedy writer, Cosby invited her to his bungalow alone, she alleges.

"He said, 'Come up to my bungalow after I'm done shooting and we'll work on the bit together,' " she says. "I thought, 'That's really cool. Getting to work with Bill Cosby will be a great credit.' "

When she got here, he made her his usual "Red Eye," she says.

According to Tarshis, the next thing she knew, she woke up.

"I was lying on the couch and he was removing my underwear," she says. "I said, 'What's going on?' He said 'You know what's going on.' "

She claims she quickly told him she had a sexual disease (she didn't) and he'd catch it, which would alert his wife he was cheating on her.

"He thought quicker and had me EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT," she says, "which was even more horrible."

After he was finished, he "acted like nothing happened," she says.

"I got up feeling sickened, embarrassed, humiliated," she says, "and he's sort of saying, 'Well, we really need to work on this monologue some more.' "

She got dressed and he gave her $10 or $20 and said, "Let me call a cab for you," she says.

"I'm thinking, 'You did this to me and now you can't even get me home? You're just sending me out with a cab,' " she says.

But she took the money and left – and told no one.

"I was scared," she says.

Okay so far so good I get it. It's this next part I don't get.

Tarshis went home to her parents in Brooklyn, where Cosby called her about a month later, she says.

"My mother answers the phone and he said, 'I'm going to pick up your talented daughter and I want to take her to the Westbury Music Fair so she can see the monologue she wrote for me.' "

Her mom handed her the phone.

"I had no way out," she says. "He was being really charming and I didn't want to tell my parents, 'This guy [sexually assaulted] me. I don't want to go out with him.' For some reason, I just couldn't tell them."

She is living at home under the protection of her parents. Why wouldn't she tell them?

So she agreed to go with him.

Why?

According to Tarshis, his driver picked her up at her parents' home and took her to Cosby's hotel in Manhattan, where she went up to his suite.

Again why? Methinks she loses the right to cry rape at this point.

If a man sexually assaulted you, why in the world would you go back to his hotel suite...especially unaccompanied.

"I had another glass of wine or soda in the car," she says. "I began to feel a little bit funny."

Why would you accept a drink from a man who had drugged you and tried to assault you?

Cosby had no seat reserved for her, so she and the chauffeur stood in the back of the theater.

"I started to get really, really drugged

DUH!?!

....so much that I told the chauffeur, 'I have to go back and sit in the car. I can't stand up,' " she says.

She recalls she went to the limo and collapsed inside.

"The next thing I remember is waking up naked in the bed with Cosby the next morning with him naked next to me," she says. "I have no idea what happened."

Once again he "acted like nothing happened," she says.

"He said, 'We'll write together sometime,' " she says. "I think I just got myself in a cab and let my parents give me the money for the cab when I got home."

Cosby called her a couple more times at her parents' home, she says.

"He'd say, 'How are you doing?' she says. "And I'd say, 'I'm doing very well. Thank you.' And hang up the phone.

She says she never saw or spoke to him again.

Well finally she got wise. I ask you, what was she thinking the second time?

3. The difference in age, power, wealth and influence is so lopsided in Cosby’s favor that it is not unreasonable to invoke undue influence as a factor.


At the end of the day though, none of the women, even those who allegedly took the drugs “willingly”, told Cosby “I want you to drug me and have sex with me after I pass out”. And by the way, even if Quaaludes were legal at the time, he obtained them illegally. Much in the way Adderall is legal but if I use a faked prescription to obtain it then sell it…..it becomes a street drug. A distinction without a difference.


And what is this “thing” that he has for having sex with comatose women? What is THAT about ???


I take no joy in this. I enjoyed Bill Cosby’s albums as a kid and later on watched his TV show. The problem is that I wouldn’t be able to listen or watch anything he does now without thinking about his behavior. Some appear to be capable of this, not I.


Not to mention telling Black people not to take drugs and to pull up their pants while he was giving out drugs and pulling down his pants.


By the way, for the second time, I am not a woman.

“They are making him out to be such a bad guy, a monster,” Camille said, according to the source.

US President Barack Obama says there are no plans to revoke Bill Cosby's Medal of Freedom amid allegations that the comedian raped as many as 40 women.
Mr Obama said there is no precedent or mechanism to revoke the honour, which Mr Cosby was awarded in 2002.
The president declined to discuss any specific aspects of Mr Cosby's case.
However, Mr Obama did say that giving someone a drug and then having sex with them without their consent should be considered rape.
"I think this country, any civilized country, should have no tolerance for rape," Mr Obama told reporters on Wednesday.
Mr Cosby admitted during a court case that he had obtained Quaaludes - a sedative - to give to women with whom he wanted to have sex.
Dozens of women have come forward and said they were drugged and raped by Mr Cosby since the 1970s.
No charges

Since the allegations, several TV networks have ended projects with Mr Cosby and statues in his honour have been removed from public display.
Mr Cosby has not been charged with any sexual assaults. Because the alleged assaults happened years ago, he can not be charged in most of the cases under US law.
A petition - sponsored by a sexual assault awareness group - has urged the White House to take back Mr Cosby's medal.
The presidential award is given to people from all walks of life who have made exceptional contributions to society.
Previous honourees include Mother Teresa, Margaret Thatcher, Stephen Hawking, Walt Disney, Doris Day, Duke Ellington and Aretha Franklin.
