Psychologist arrested for child molestation

A clinical psychologist employed to the Ministry of Health is behind bars facing charges of child molestation.
The psychologist who is assigned to one of the country's major hospitals was picked up Wednesday night by detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) following allegations that he had been having sex with a minor over an unspecified period.
The psychologist is expected to be questioned in the presence of his attorney on Friday.
Soldier molests girl
Meanwhile, as CISOCA steps up its crack-down on the sexual assault of minors, a member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) was also arrested Thursday afternoon following reports that he sexually molested a teenage girl.
RJR News understands that the soldier was picked up by detectives from CISOCA and is expected to be charged later this week.
The JDF says the soldier has since been dismissed.
