He explained he wasn’t briefed by staff about West’s citizenship, telling a CityNews reporter, “I wish he was Canadian.”

In an interview with Jim Richards on Newstalk 1010, Tory made light of the fact he didn’t know Kanye wasn’t Canadian.“All I can focus on with Kanye West is who he is married to,” Tory told Richards.
Asked to name his favourite Kanye song, Tory laughed.
“I only know who his wife is, that’s all I know about him and now I know he’s an American so there we go,” he said.
Richards asked Tory what he knows about Kardashian West.
“Just that she is part of that very colourful, interesting family and that she seems to pose in pictures that show off her ample posterior on a regular basis,” Tory said.
Richards pressed Tory on whether he’s “fond” of those pics.
“Jim, even for you I’m not answering that question,” Tory laughed.
