in canada there is no copay ..the plan pays the entire fee but the fee is only $25 or $30

Depend on you r speciality, but primart get about 100 per visit Specialist range in the 200 300 rangen Although thereal settlement is as insurance do about 60%

No, you are right that is the biggest issue in out system for real. I know cause I am at the dr office every few months so I feel it....

I think our model is good.

What sucks has been the politiking that has interferred with its execution since the 1980's. That is when the system started a rapid decline and dumb things were done in the name of politics and now is effecting the state of our care. You have to pay the piper at sme point and the point is now for us.

But it is best to push preventative care. And even that they are undermining with the introduction of Bill C-31...which will limit ppl's access to alternative care. So instead of encouraging folks to protect themselves before serious illness kicksc in, they are curbing it.

And this move is based on laws that are in place in the U.S. now governing alternative medicine. </div></div>

100% agreement on the politrixing.. Its one scandal after the next over this side..
Infact my own MPP and Natural Resources Minister, Lisa Raitt ( i did NOT vote for her) was just embroiled in some isotope shortage scandal where she was caught on tape talking about issue that affects research for cancer (patients) as "exotic"..
Mi notice after the big halabaloo, and calls for her resignation, the media has suddenly become quite, and now its news about her attending barbquese and doing the good ole, "business as usual" stuff. den there was the poor oversight which caused the eHealth spending scandal whey dem ended up calling for the resignation of Health Minister David Caplan.. but .. still here .. oh and him give some a di main people (scape goats) some rathid severange package.. one woman get over $300K severance PLUS $100K bonus.. for running a corrupt system robbing tax payers money.. Fine health system mi a tell u..

RichD.. seems mi paying more than mi should for this "no health system" already, suh what a would pay for a private health system? What ever it cost to provide mi and mi family wid the access them need to a reliable, effective heatlthcare system.. one that actually exist, not some illusion. (As it is now, mi pay waay too much for taxes, mi doubt a good health care plan would be anywhere near $50K per annum)..
Mi a one a di "payers" to this frikin system, not the leechers.. Mi reach a point mi start refuse and avoid promotions and additional (documented) income, cause all it duh a gimi more work and responsibilities and the only person that benefit is the taxman (and the people dem whey know how fi bleed the system)..

Dad has been in the hospital now for six months. They have been sending him for various test and and he has had a couple of procedures. Yes I agree some of the wait times are a bit much, however sometimes the wait is only a few short minutes.

Total bill for absolutely everything thus far $0.00. They are even paying for the T.V. in his room, don't ask me why, they just are (so we stay about it)

I too think the canadian system is quite good, it needs to be fixed as the politicians have done some foolishness, but I've never had any issues aside from waiting for my family doctor, I'm in Toronto though. we DO need more doctors but the system as it is is very good from my own experience. I've gone to specialists had very thorough exams and such and havn't paid a penny for it. (I have had bouts with kidney stones so they wanted to send me to a specialist to see the causes and give me a way to prevent future ones.)

if I was smart enuff to have been able to conceive the solution to Canada's health care issues, I'd probably be somewhere off the coast of Negril point right now relaxing on my 262-foot Constellation yatch and donning mi Red Bull and Guiness..
