Black Star, This is exactly what I was talking about and what I meant by <span style="font-weight: bold">&quot;uncle-tomism&quot;</span> in another thread about this incidence. The nation's police have become so used to this type of <span style="font-weight: bold">sub-servience</span> from people of color, especially <span style="font-weight: bold">black males</span> that they have been spoilt. They seem to expect it as one of the perks of their job to the point, if it's not forthcomming, <span style="font-weight: bold">they think they are being &quot;disrespected...</span> It's my belief, that some black men who are trained to be courteous, have avoided incarceration because of it. Being respectful within limits is one thing, <span style="font-weight: bold">but being an &quot;uncle tom&quot; is another thing</span>... Louis GATES, a friend of the president wasn't going to be any <span style="font-weight: bold">&quot;uncle tom&quot;</span> to no police officer. ~ He stood his ground, paid the price and should be commended for it...

Btw, the president may have said a bit too much, but he spoke from his heart, putting himself in his friend's shoes; What do white people expect when they drop these &quot;off-topic racial divisive&quot; question on him at the end of a press conference. I'll bet he wont save the last question for her anytime soon, after this.... It was not a diplomatic answer but he told them the truth.
