It appears that the serial groom is eyeing yet another wife. Singer-songwriter Billy Joel, who just ended his four-year marriage to wife Katie Lee last month, is reportedly dating Alex Donnelley, actress best known for originating the role of Diane Jenkins on the popular daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless.
According to NY Post's Page Six, Joel met Donnelley through friends backstage while touring with Elton John at his recent Washington, D.C. concert. The actress has been visiting Joel at his home in Sag Harbor, where they go boating or ride around on Joel's custom motorcycles.
The two hit it off immediately," said an insider.
Alex Donnelley, who has two daughters, Kate and Sean, from her former marriage to musician Robert Lamm, would be wife number 4 if Joel decides to pop the question in the future.
Joel, who has been billed as the sixth best-selling recording artist in the United States, according to RIAA, has had quite a colorful history when it comes to his marriages. He was first married to his business manager, Elizabeth Weber Small, who was also the former wife of his music partner, Jon Small, on September 5, 1973. They divorced eight years later, though he kept her on as his business manager, a move that would prove to be a mistake, as her brother, Frank Weber, embezzled almost all of Joel's savings.
Joel then married Christie Brinkley on March 23, 1985 and has a daughter named Alexa Ray Joel. The couple divorced on August 25, 1994, although they remain friends. In October 2, 2004, he married his third wife Katie Lee, who served as the host of Bravo's Top Chef during the first season. Just last month, both confirmed that they have called it quits after five years of marriage.
