Bible-toting gunmen murder teen
Thugs dressed in 'Sunday best' shoot five
Residents of Maverley in St Andrew say gunmen dressed in their Sunday best and carrying Bibles yesterday shot five people, killing a 15-year-old in a brazen morning attack."The men that did the shooting dressed like they were going to church - clothes and Bible," one resident said. "Mi tink they did dat so they could come in undetected."
Another resident said there were two shooters and both wore "nice dress shirts and pants". He blamed the attack, which claimed the life of Dorian Scott, 15, and injured four others, aged 16,17,18 and 30, to a long-standing feud with men from another community in that area.
tight-lipped
The Duhaney Park police, who are investigating the matter, were very tight-lipped when THE STAR contacted them and directed all inquiries to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN). The CCN was, however, unable to confirm or deny if the shooting was as a result of any feud between communities in that area or if the men were dapperly dressed while they carried out the devastating crime.
Official reports on the shooting are that about 8:15 a.m. yesterday, the five victims were at premises at Reapers Road when they were approached by a group of men armed with guns. The gunmen then opened fire hitting the five men several times before escaping. Scott died on the spot while the others were taken to hospital where they were admitted in serious condition. A 17-year-old from Keystone in Spanish Town, St Catherine, is among those injured.
