A compliance attorney for Goldman Sachs was caught in an online sex sting.
33-year-old Todd Genger is charged with attempted dissemination of indecent material to a minor after a series of online chats with what he believed to be a 15-year-old girl. Of course, the person he was communicating with was not a young girl.
The person on the other end of the chats was actually an investigator with the District Attorney’s office. The online conversations allegedly took place during the months of April and June. Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said:
“The defendant discussed specific sexual acts in which he would engage the underage ‘girl.’ The defendant admitted to having the online conversations.”
Todd Genger resides in Manhattan, and is married with three children. He has worked with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. since 2006. He is currently the vice president of the compliance division.
Genger was released pending trial August 11. The maximum penalty, upon conviction, is up to four years in prison.
