A small aircraft containing almost 2,000 pounds of ganja crashed in Schwallenburgh, near Mount Rosser in St Catherine, killing two persons onboard this morning.
Police reported that the plane that nosedived and then crashed near the Windalco Bauxite property, between St Ann and St Catherine, and then burst into flames as it landed, shortly before 10:00 am.
Police said they found the drugs at the crash site.
“The charred remains of two men were found in the burnt out shell of the crashed air craft,” said Sergeant Jubert Llewellyn, spokesperson for Operation Kingfish, the unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) responsible for investigating drug gangs.
Four men have been arrested and three motor cars seized in connection with the find. The aircraft was registered in Florida.
